So, here’s what’s new in Vivaldi 5.0 and why it’s time you gave this browser a try.

What’s New in Vivaldi 5.0? 3 Features You Need to Try

A fair few new features are launching with Vivaldi 5.0, but here are the three you should check out right away.

1. Shareable Customizable Themes

First up, customizable Vivaldi Themes allow you to trick out your browser window exactly how you want. You can build out the custom themes from scratch, or you can rummage through the Vivaldi Themes Gallery and find something that suits your mood. You can even customize which browser theme appears at certain times of the day, scheduling a new theme to kick in when it’s time wind-down at the end of the day.

Another nice touch for the new Themes feature is the ability to export and share your Vivaldi Themes. You can either export your Theme as a ZIP file and send it to a friend, or upload your creation to the Themes Gallery for anyone to download.

To get started with Vivaldi Themes, head to Vivaldi Menu > Tools > Settings > Themes, from which you can begin creating your custom display.

2. Integrated Translate Panel with Automatic Translations

Now, the second big new Vivaldi feature is an integrated translation tool. Big deal, you might think, every brower has a translation option.

But what sets Vivaldi’s new translation tool apart from most integrated translation options is the depth it goes into. For example, you can highlight a section of text, select translate, and the Translate window will appear. From there, you can switch between various languages, make adjustments to the text you want to translate, and more.

Another difference is that the Vivaldi Translate tool is powered by LingvaNex, one of the world’s leading premium translation tools. Translation was already an option in Vivaldi, but the new integration will make its translation output more accurate, faster, and with a greater range of languages.

3. Vivaldi 5.0 for Android Gets Stacked Tab Management

Double stacked browser tabs have been a Vivaldi browser feature since version 3.6—more than a little while ago now.

But up until now, those stacked tabs have remained elusive for Android users. That all changes with the release of Vivaldi 5.0 for Android, where you can now use two tiers of browser tabs for maximum productivity (or just if you love having loads of tabs open at once).

The move differs from how most other browsers approach mobile devices, with many now opting for group-related browser tabs. However, Vivaldi 5.0 brings the stacking option to Android, another handy option for mobile users.

Once you upgrade to Vivaldi 5.0 on Android, you can enable the new stacked tabs:

Open Vivaldi 5. 0 on your Android device Long press the new tab icon until the selection menu appears Now, select Create new tab stack from the context menu

That’s it; you’re good to go.

It’s Time to Give Vivaldi 5.0 a Try

If you’ve never taken the time to give the Vivaldi browser a try, there’s no time like the present. The latest update is already live, including all of the aforementioned features.
