No shortage of volunteers immediately stepped forwards over the weekend as thousands attempted to complete his search for him. The 41-year-old has been in a number of high-profile relationships, but has yet to tie the knot with anyone.

The Captain America and Lightyear actor was speaking as part of the press tour for his upcoming Netflix movie The Gray Man. During an interview with Mariel Turner for Shondaland Digital, Evans was asked what in his life he is “laser-focused on?”

“The answer would be that,” Evans said as he paused to consider his response. “Maybe laser-focused on finding a partner you know? Or someone that you wanna live — I mean look, I love what I do, it’s great. I pour all of myself into it but in terms — even this industry is full of pockets of doubt, hesitation and recalibration.”

He continued: “In terms of really trying to find someone that you really pour all of yourself into, maybe it’s about trying to find someone that you’re looking to spend your life with. So maybe that.”

Evans was praised for the honesty of his answer in the comments section following the video on Twitter. He became a trending topic as many fans of his stepped forwards to volunteer as the life partner he’s looking for.

“Ahem. I’m sure he will find several volunteers” predicted @Nina201710, before adding: “I really want him to find someone wonderful. He deserves it.” The Twitter user was correct as many people directly quoted The Hunger Games and wrote “I volunteer as tribute.”

“I’m here Mr. Evans!! I’m here!!” wrote @rubiblade98, stepping forwards for the actor. “It’s my time to shine,” declared @sanzzzzz.

Twitter user @Itcouldbeandie tried to find common ground with the actor. “Hi [Chris Evans] I volunteer for the role of your girlfriend. My best quality: I love LOVE dogs,” they wrote. “I’m here baby, I volunteer for this important mission,” wrote another brave volunteer, @YohannaAmezq.

During the interview, Evans sat next to his co-star from The Gray Man, Ana de Armas, which led @isabalfeheughan to write: “Just look to your side, she is right next to you…”

“[Chris Evans] I’ve read you’re “laser-focused” on finding a life partner,” wrote @Elsimmy1 on Twitter, “I’m totally available.”

“Pick me, choose me, love me. I would love to spend my life with you, Chris. You’re special to me,” wrote @Valentina_2189, seemingly quoting Grey’s Anatomy.

“Is he accepting applications” asked @RoseHaft while @SamanthaCat13 acknowledged the amount of potential suitors he has. “I’m the 2 millionth person in line. Hello, Mr. Evans,” they wrote.

Evans’ recent movie Lightyear was criticized by some for being “woke,” while others questioned why Tim Allen didn’t return to voice the character of Buzz Lightyear.

The Gray Man, which stars Evans, de Armas and Ryan Gosling is available to watch in movie theaters now, before launching on Netflix on Friday, July 22.
